# jp-entity-evidence

> What do official Japanese public records state about this organization, across several registries in one call? FSA registers and warning lists, the FSA administrative action case list, the MOF asset-freeze list, EDINET filings, the ISA register of support organizations and, where connected, gBizINFO (METI) basic information and certifications: each registry's status, version date, source, matched records and what could not be checked. For a single registry, use the individual relay (jp-finance, jp-sanctions, jp-edinet, jp-ssw-support-orgs). Evidence relay only: not a legal or compliance determination.

Scope: This service matches Japanese public registration and warning records for the stated scope and as-of date and returns the evidence. It does not guarantee a counterparty's identity, legality, creditworthiness or safety, make investment judgements, or complete AML/KYC. No match in the warning records does not mean that no warning or violation exists.

Evidence relay of what official Japanese public records state, as of the dates shown, with the source of each item and what could not be checked. It is not legal, compliance, tax or investment advice and not an assessment of any organization or person. A sanctions screening without a match is not a statement that any transaction is permitted. Similar-name candidates are not matches. Confirm on the official sources (official_check) before relying on it.
No profiling of individuals: when the name looks like a person's name, it is screened only against the MOF asset-freeze list, and business registers are checked only by registration or corporate number. Names submitted are not stored by this service.
Statuses per registry: listed (matching record by identifier or exact name), not_found_in_checked_records (not in the version checked), no_longer_listed_since (seen earlier by this service, not in the current version since a date; reason not inferred), expired (an end date stated by the record has passed), unknown (not checked, unavailable, stale, or only similar-name candidates).
Use this service for checks that span several registries. For a single registry lookup, the individual relay answers with less text: jp-sanctions (MOF asset-freeze list by name), jp-ssw-support-orgs (ISA support organizations), jp-finance (FSA registers and warnings), jp-edinet (EDINET filings). The default answer is compact (checked registries only; not-checked ones are one line in summary.could_not_be_checked); detail=true returns everything.
identity.ties says how each section was tied to the query: input identifier, corporate number stated in an FSA record, corporate number of the only gBizINFO exact-name candidate, exact name, or candidate name. Name ties do not identify one legal entity.
identity.corporate_number.resolution (name-only queries, where gBizINFO is connected): a corporate number is used only when exactly one gBizINFO candidate has exactly the queried name (after address_hint, if given); otherwise every candidate number is listed and none is chosen.
fsa_enforcement: rows of the FSA case list of adverse administrative actions that state the corporate number, with the scope (FSA and Local Finance Bureaus, fiscal 2002 to the list's as-of date). No row is not_found_in_checked_records for that scope only; after the as-of date is unknown.
gbizinfo_basic and gbizinfo_certifications carry the gBizINFO source notice (出典：「Gビズインフォ」（経済産業省）（https://info.gbiz.go.jp/）を加工して作成) with the retrieval date; they are not an official result of METI. Zero certification rows is unknown (source_not_exhaustive). Differences between the FSA register lists and gBizINFO's FSA rows are listed as facts (cross_source_comparison).
Not covered: The National Tax Agency corporate number registry (name, address, closure): not yet connected (see identity.corporate_number).
Not covered: Commercial registry (登記), court records, licenses issued by prefectures or other ministries, and business registers other than those in sections.
Not covered: Sanctions and export-control lists other than the MOF asset-freeze list (UN, OFAC, EU, UK, METI End User List).
Not covered: News, litigation, reviews, financial condition, beneficial ownership and any evaluation of the organization.
Not covered: Records before each registry's tracking_since, and changes after its status_as_of.

- catalog: List the tools of this server with prices, data sources, licensing, daily limits and data freshness.
- entity_evidence_check: For checks spanning several Japanese registries at once: FSA registers, warnings and enforcement case list, MOF asset-freeze list, EDINET filings, ISA support organizations, gBizINFO where connected. Returns each registry's status, version date, source, matches and what was not checked; a domain alone stays unverified. For one registry, use jp-finance, jp-sanctions, jp-edinet or jp-ssw-support-orgs. Stated scope and dates only; no match is not proof none exists. No compliance determination.
- get_receipt: Re-fetch the stored result of a settled paid call by its receipt_id, for when the response was lost after payment. Free. Unknown or unsettled receipt ids return RECEIPT_NOT_FOUND. Results are kept for 90 days after settlement.

## Payments

This server offers free tools only. It does not request or accept x402 payments.

## Rate limits

- Free calls (free HTTP endpoints under /v1/ and free MCP tools) are limited to 300 requests per 60 seconds per client (a client is keyed by a one-way hash of its IP address and the first 64 characters of its User-Agent; neither is stored. The User-Agent can be set by anyone, so this split is for fairness between clients behind a shared gateway, not a security control). Over the limit, HTTP returns 429 RATE_LIMITED with a Retry-After header and MCP tools return the error RATE_LIMITED. Paid calls are not rate limited.

## Provenance and fetch_status

Responses carry provenance[] (source, upstream_updated_at, retrieved_at, content_sha256, parser_version, fetch_status). fetch_status values:

- found: The upstream document was retrieved and contains the data used for this answer.
- empty: The upstream was retrieved, but it has no item for this query (for example JMA had no bulletin for that area in its feeds, or the municipality is not in the list). The state is unknown: empty does NOT mean 'none in effect'.
- stale: The data was retrieved but is older than the freshness threshold for its kind; treat it with care.
- unavailable: The upstream could not be retrieved, read or used (network error, withdrawn bulletin, paused source, or data not yet loaded).
- unsupported: The query is outside what this source covers (for example a date JMA does not issue warnings for yet, or a period before the source's records).

- RATE_LIMITED (free calls over the per-client limit; HTTP 429 with Retry-After; not charged)

## Terms

- Each section has status_as_of (version date stated by the source), last_observed_at (when this service last confirmed that version) and tracking_since (start of this service's history for that registry; null = no history kept).
